Amy Liu-MInstD, MBA, CA- Finance Director
With 15 years of accounting experience, Amy is a consummate professional who brings a wealth of expertise to her role as the director of business and financial strategy for Wisdom Cleaning and Affiliated companies. Michael Hershberger - General Manager
I joined Wisdom Cleaning in January 2022 as Operations Manager following 7 years in Whangarei in similar roles.
After moving to Whangarei from Auckland in 2016, working in the banking and finance industry, I took on a role as Regional Manager for a mid-sized national cleaning company specializing in local government and education contracts. In 2018 I was invited to take on an Operations Managers position for a much larger multi-national cleaning business. This role built on the earlier knowledge of the cleaning industry I gained and exposed me to more commercial and central government contracts.
My wife and I were renovating an old bungalow at the time, which was taking more of my time than I anticipated, so after discussing options with my wife I left the cleaning industry and worked for a friend in his aluminium window and door framing business.
With the extra time I gained working in a small manufacturing business I was able to complete the renovations however we felt it was time to swap the fishing and beaches of the North to where we have family and friends in the South. So, in 2022 we moved to Christchurch.
The move for me was like coming home, having arrived in NZ in 1971 from the U.S.. We initially moved to Akaroa with family and then permanently into Christchurch after a few months of settling in. A lot has changed over the years with many areas that were once farmland now industrial and residential hubs.
In July 2023 I was given the opportunity to take the reins of Wisdom Cleaning as General Manager and where I will have the opportunity to build on Daniel and Amy’s success and expand the business further. I enjoy meeting with our current clients and look forward to meeting our future ones as without them, we can not grow.
